2018: Dear God, can I have at least ONE new REAL friend please?
Was it a silly prayer or request?
I spend a lot of time on my laptop. Or on my mobile.
With people being online these days and on social media, face-to-face contact is rare. It should be treasured.
Who knows if the person with whom you’ve been chatting for some weeks or even months, is even real?
On some social media platforms, people can use an abstract picture, a cartoon or funny photo, for their profile. If they’re unwilling to show their real self in a photo, it could raise red flags. There’s something not quite right about this person.
If they’re doing this on Facebook, you can sort of understand it. They may want to hide their real identity, in case they make inflammatory posts or comments there. They wouldn’t want their boss or colleagues to see their activities there.
I’ve asked someone on LinkedIn why he doesn’t show his real photo on his profile. When I did a Google search on him, it was hard to find any real information on him. I couldn’t find photos of him, say at work, with colleagues or at any event.
