Adam K. Raymond Talking about #email scams, I received a job offer by email this week and at first thought it was fantastic! I checked the website. It looked good. Noted the writer of email was a director of the company. I couldn’t find him or his company on #linkedIn. That made me suspicious!

Then I checked the email address. It was an Outlook email address.

Why would the #director (different version of CEO, Chairman scams) be sending me a job offer, using an Outlook email, instead of through their official company email system?

I haven’t sent him my personal information. An application form was attached, asking for my personal details. It’s so easy for people who are trusting to be scammed. Send them your details and they’ll open fraudulent bank accounts or credit cards in your name and go on a spending spree. Before you know it, you’re being chased to PAY those accounts! Or you get involved in #moneylaundering which is a criminal offence.

These scammers can become quite creative. Such a shame they can’t use their “creativity” in a legit job!
