Aytekin Tank The obsession with success (or the definition of) was forced upon us (the majority) by a few. Everyone is different and GROWS at a different rate. Our souls are interested in growth, not in achieving goals like $10 million or running that marathon and getting the gold medal. It’s WHO we become when we make that $10 million is what we need to be aware of.

I saw news about a runner who stopped to help someone who collapsed, to get her to the finish line. She let that person cross it first. THAT showed her character, her selflessness, her generosity to help a fellow competitor.

If our achievement makes us a worse person, then we need to reevaluate what we’re doing. Awareness is key. Checking in with ourselves helps us to avoid “Is this all there is?” when we achieve that goal and find it empty.

To force everyone on your team or company to meet that ONE definition of success makes people miserable, sick and other people in their world (kids, partner, friends) pay the price of that success.
