Confidence.

Confidence is something that we value. In ourselves and others.

We tend to admire people who possess confidence. Why is that?

A quick search for the definition of confidence

noun: confidence

  1. full trust; belief in the powers, trustworthiness, or reliability of a person or thing:

We have every confidence in their ability to succeed.

2. belief in oneself and one’s powers or abilities; self-confidence; self-reliance; assurance:

His lack of confidence defeated him.

3. certitude; assurance:

He described the situation with such confidence that the audience believed him completely.

Where did I see this word before? I started shopping at ALDI Food Stores in Sydney, Australia because their tissue paper boxes were more colorful. The front tab was also titled “Confidence.” I’d pull off the tabs (see photo) and place them on my desk. It serves as a good affirmation for my mind!

Confident people seem to be luckier.

Things tend to work out for them. They get the best seats in the house. They find that last parking spot at the front of the store. Other people have to park far away and…
