Dear Ashton, it would be great if more fathers would write or just talk to their daughters! Instead of criticizing them.
When women have a problem, they like to talk about it. To share with their friends. A problem shared is a problem halved. Some women process their problems by speaking out their thoughts.
Men find this process a mystery. They believe (wrongly) that they must help by solving the problem. No. They just want to be heard. Your time to listen, with some appropriate words afterwards, is called support.
Women hate it when some men would just stay silent after sharing something important with them. They could get upset because they think that the person don’t care. Perhaps they do but they did a poor job of showing their support!
Silence or going AWOL is not (good) communication.
