Focus and intention. It’s good for writers to remember to give value to their readers. What’s in it for them? Not the writer. Readers, normal people, have problems, they feel bored or need inspiration. Write to help them solve their problems or to change or even better, to transform their lives.

There’s a small number of writers on medium who are full-time or freelance writers. Whilst posts about “how-to” earn money are helpful to this group, they’re not helpful to other readers.

Also focusing on making money turns people off reading your posts. Your main intention is to improve the lives of your readers, not your bank account.

Perhaps those kind of posts are better shared in a group, outside of Medium.

Medium has the ability to see who have visited our posts and left without reading or any interaction. They could see a pattern with a writer and decide that they don’t deserve to be curated. Who knows? They don’t have to explain it to us why…

So please get back to the basics. Serve your readers with great writing.
