If giant companies like #amazon #walmart and others are turning to #technology this is mainly to stay competitive. It’s cheaper and more efficient to use automation. Hiring (and firing) humans come with a steep cost. Amazon’s acqusition of KIVA Systems forced competitors to develop and use #automation and robots to survive. Logistics and warehousing have changed. Why not retail? There are “Dark Stores” now, they’re really warehouses where AMDs (robots) can pick and get online orders ready. No humans required here.

Loreal, the world’s biggest beauty company, uses #china as its digital laboratory using #augmentedreality #modiface which are Magic Mirrors showing customers what they look like as they on try different beauty products. They don’t even have to physically try it on.

In retail, no-fuss refunds could speed up adoption of AR in retail. If it doesn’t fit, no sweat. Just send it back, our friendly drone will pick it up and another will deliver the correct size for you.
