I’m a baby boomer but I don’t have my own home ‘cause I used my house money for business and startups. Many boomers still have mortgages to pay off. The recession will be brutal for all of us. Those who happen to have their homes almost or fully paid off will be the lucky ones. Still, there are other bills to pay, healthcare being a biggie, insurance and bills to keep a vehicle going.

We must really work together, we’re in the same boat. I prefer to use an expansive mindset as negative thinking contracts my mind and make me feel afraid to try. Sure, we may not succeed in everything but then that’s the only way to find out if something will work or not.

It’s only in trying new things like writing, creating videos, podcasts or whatever skill sets you have, like cake decorating, fashion or making websites, can we escape the 9–5 regular job. That was like 50 years ago when someone could stay in their job for 10 or 20 years and get a gold watch when they retire! Freelancing and the gig economy is here to stay!

Also let’s forget about geographical boundaries and think of ourselves as global citizens. Not as writers from USA, Canada, Australia, Asia, India, Singapore, UK, France, Germany… but as writers appealing to a worldwide audience!
