There is so much stigma about mental health that half of the people will not get help. Some may even kill themselves.

1,000,000 people killed themselves per year globally (WHO 2011). That’s one person every 40 seconds or 3,000 a day!

Imagine taking the bus or train to work in the morning and noticing 3,000 empty places. Look at all those empty seats. What happened to those people?

Some of them could be preventable, if they got help in time. For every death, at least 20 people have tried to kill themselves (per 2011 statistics).

That means that over 20,000,000 people have tried to kill themselves. But only 1 in 20 have succeeded. What happened to the other 19? When will they try again and succeed this time?

The suicide rate is increasing.

Suicide is condemned for religious or cultural reasons. “It’s a sin to take your own life.” Let’s hold off the judgement & give them your compassion instead.
